Rule #1 - So it doesn't explode

Because a boat is more like a space station than a car, the first priority of owning a boat is making it so it doesn't explode. That's fuel lines, propane tanks, and fuel tanks, making sure they're in good working order.

Rule #2 - So it doesn't sink

The second most important part of boat ownership is ensuring your boat doesn't sink. That's thru-hulls, valves, boat bottom condition, and a good working head.

Rule #3 - Make it look good

After ensuring your boat won't explode or sink, is when you get to work on the fun stuff. How your boat looks and all the other functioning parts. Remember, once we leave the slip, our boats are in "operation mode" and not the time to be fixing things on the water.
